Hall SCR Airfoil drastically reduces drag by reducing frontal area to its absolute minimum. SCR Airfoil is a full 50% smaller in frontal area than C6. The aerodynamic advantage of SCR Airfoil is VPP-quantifiable in meters per hour. According to computer modeling, a 40-foot boat with SCR Airfoil on a 4nm windward leeward course will have a seven boat-length advantage at the finish line over an identical boat with round carbon shrouds.

In addition to low windage, long life is another outstanding quality of Hall SCR Airfoil. With proper maintenance, its life expectancy, like that of a Hall carbon mast, can be many decades. We construct Hall SCR of intermediate-modulus carbon, using the proven heat-cure resin system with which we produce our famous Hall masts.
Hall SCR Airfoil’s solid carbon construction resists all but the most extreme rope-rubbing chafe, such as when halyards are mishandled and wound around headstays. SCR also has impressive resistant to impact, and only impacts from extreme mishandling can begin to affect it.
