As the name indicates, Globanas owner intended to use his yachts for voyages around the globe. In the past, a project like this for a sailing boat of this size (36m) would have required a crew of 30. On this aluminium ketch however, automatic roller furlings have taken over the former personnel-intensive tasks. A 628 m² sail area and a 600 hp engine guarantee flawless journeying under every condition. The light hull and carbon fibre masts (half of the weight of aluminium) are responsible for less draught and therefore make it easier to sail in shallow waters and ports. Lightness is also seen in the interior design: the use of whitewashed oak contributes to a reduced and at the same time valuable look.
The lesson is clear: purists may not find what they are looking for, but amongst gourmets, Globana is definitely a real delight.
